Midwest Structural Health, Safety and Environmental Policy
Midwest Structural is committed to protect its employees, visitors, contractors, and its neighbours in the communities from potential health and safety hazards while conducting operations. As such, we also recognize we have a responsibility to protect those with whom we come into contact with through our business relationships.
Midwest Structural is committed to its health and safety management system. We have incorporated and comply with the OHS legislation and applicable regulation into policy and procedure, while striving to exceed industry standard. All workers conducting work for Midwest Structural will follow applicable OHS legislation and guidelines included within this health and safety management system directive. Each employee at Midwest Structural is tasked with maintaining a safe and healthy workplace and management will provide the necessary resources to support the efforts. Everyone has the right to refuse to do work when unsafe conditions exist, right to participate in health and safety activities and right to be informed about health and safety.
Managers and Supervisors are responsible to ensure employees receive instruction on carrying out their individual responsibilities as outlined in health and safety management system. Management supports and expects participation in the safety program by all workers. All employees, managers, supervisors, workers and contractors are responsible for complying with the health and safety management system including obeying safety rules, following safe work practices, abiding by policies and communicating concerns.
Our goal is to have an injury and incident-free workplace. Further we will strive to eliminate any foreseeable hazards which may result in incidents; near misses, personal injury/illness, property damage, and environmental damage. It is our objective that management functions will comply with legislative safety requirements as they relate to planning, operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment. Safe work practices and procedures will be clearly defined for all employees’ job specific duties.
Everyone within Midwest Structural, including management and supervisors, is not only responsible and accountable for the company’s overall safety initiatives but for the physical, psychological and social well-being of employees.
Through continuous safety consciousness, and everyone’s participation, we can establish a strong safety culture to provide and maintain a safer and healthier work environment for all employees.
